Location: At Bluejay Campground which lies in the Cleveland National Forest. (see map)
The Course: 26.2 miles on forest trails and fire roads. Starting at 3,300-ft. Maximum elevation 4,194 ft. Follow chalk marks. Be ready, it's tough - you'll love it!**

There is a 7 hour time limit **

Aid Stations: 5 Well stocked aid stations.
We suggest that you carry water between aid stations.
Runner Limits: 1st -- 150 registered runners only
Park only in designated areas or on the right side of the road. There is a charge for parking on all Cleveland National Forest roads. A day pass is $5.00 or an Adventure pass is $30.00, which is good for a year. You can purchase these through us and pick them up on Raceday at Registration desk -- on our web site -- or contact the US Forest Service at 909-736-1811.
Bluejay Campground is in the Cleveland National Forest in the Trabuco Ranger District. Go east from I-5 at San Juan Capistrano. Continue down Ortega Hwy #74 for about 22 miles and turn left at the entrance to the campground and drive up Long Canyon road, following the chalk marks. At Bluejay Campground area, turn left from Long Canyon Road and follow that paved road around. Be sure to park on the correct side in single file as you are headed to Bluejay campground.
Car Pool Please:
We can use your help. Please try to carpool if possible. We are hoping to please the US Forest Service by controlling our vehicles at our events.
For runners participating in the Saddleback Marathon we can recommend a few places to stay. You must inform the hotels that you are with RND Running in order to get the "special rate" they offer for our runners.
  1. The Best Western Capistrano Inn off the I-5 Freeway and Ortega Highway has agreed to a special rate. Runners must mention that they are with RND Running and they will get a room rate of $59.95 plus tax and if you advise them, I believe they will transport you to the Start line.   2. The Doubletree Hotel Irvine Spectrum between the 5 and 405 freeways has agreed to offer our runners a great weekend rate. They are offering a weekend price rate of $79.00 + tax, for our runners. The Doubletree is approximately 1 hour's drive to the race site. They will transport to and from the John Wayne Airport. They have a fantastic restaurant inside and other amenities.   3. Lakeview Inn off the Interstate 15 in Lake Elsinore has a special rate for our runners also. There is only one place we can recommend in Lake Elsinore and they have clean rooms, courteous staff, a pool and Jacuzzi available to use and the location is right across from the Casino.
